Backend Transfer in SJC1

Today is the day you’ve been waiting for….at least if you’re a fan of our Backend Transfer feature. In addition to EWR1, NRT1 and AMS1 Backend Transfer is now available in SJC1. We’re hard at work rolling out updates to our network to support Backend Transfer in all of our locations - coming soon!

Quick refresher: Backend Transfer allows your servers in a single project to communicate with each other within a single facility, as well as between Packet facilities— even across the globe— using private RFC1918 address space. There’s no need to assign additional IP space or configure anything additional on the hosts. Existing devices across facilities will be able to communicate with each other without any additional configuration. The only restriction on backend networking is that all of your servers must be within a single project.

Check out the documentation for all the details. As always, if you have any questions or comments feel free to reach out at help@packet.net.
