Manny's path started at the bottom and now he's making it to the top, literally (kind of). He learned to program in C on a gameboy emulator, with all the spritely and interruptly glory you can expect, moving on to embedded Linux systems handling WIFI and satellite protocols, and finally to big iron x86 machines with > 64M of RAM (omg!). This lead to changing focus and moving into distributed systems at OmniTI working to bring ZFS as a first class citizen into the Linux container world.
At Packet he brings all this experience to bridge the system services world and anything having to do with the actual iron. At home Manny likes to spend time with his family consisting of 1 wife, 2 kids, 2 standard poodles, a miniature horse/lawnmower and ~20 chickens.
