Site Reliability Engineer

Packet is the global leader in automated bare-metal infrastructure, and is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to assist in building features that improve the stability and scalability of our core platform as well as maintaining its underlying systems health.
As such, you are expected to be well-versed in the intricacies of automating infrastructure and should have a deep understanding and passion for all things server-related.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this position, you’ll be personally responsible for the stability, reliability, and performance of our core API and its supporting microservices. These services are written in golang and ruby, so the more familiar you are with these programming languages the better.
When problems are identified in Packet's provisioning, API, and microservice software stacks, you are expected to be able to extensively troubleshoot these issues and submit PRs to resolve them.
We have adopted a microservices-based architecture for our core platform, and as such you will be interacting with many asynchronous systems and should be comfortable navigating a complex systems and a distributed network environment.
